At Rustic Charm Woodshop, our affinity for old wood runs deep. Each piece we use carries with it a rich and distinctive history, as do the individuals from whom we acquire it. By transforming this reclaimed and salvaged wood into tables and other furniture pieces, we forge connections with these families and extend the legacy of their stories for years to come.

Erika, the founder of Rustic Charm Woodshop, which took root in 2016, has been actively engaged in the art of creation for most of her life. After a 16 year career with the Federal Government Of Canada, she made the bold decision to resign from her position, dedicating herself to the art of woodworking and content creation. Although most of her professional career was dedicated to the public service, she had many other previous work experiences that contributed to her chosen career path today. From crafting sets for theatre productions to flipping houses and refurbishing furniture, Erika's hands-on approach to building and creating has been a constant. If she can physically lift it, she can build it!
Reclaimed & Salvaged
At our workshop, we have a special focus on creating one-of-a-kind pieces using reclaimed wood obtained from various sources. These sources include old homes, buildings, and barns, each with its own rich history and character. Additionally, we salvage wood from fallen trees, giving new life to what might otherwise go to waste.
Moreover, our furniture serves as a canvas that highlights the inherent beauty of wood grains and textures. Each knot, pattern, and imperfection tells a story, adding depth and character to the finished piece. Through our craftsmanship, we aim to not only create visually stunning furniture but also to celebrate the natural beauty of the materials we work with.
Our commitment to renewable energy is at the forefront of our operations. At Rustic Charm Woodshop, 70% of our workshop's energy needs are met through solar power. This means that the majority of the electricity used to power our tools, lighting, and machinery comes from the sunlight. By harnessing the power of solar technology, we are reducing our reliance on non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels and minimizing our carbon footprint.
