Rustic Cherry Farm Table
SOLD
The cherry wood used in crafting this table originates from a tree that had gracefully fallen decades ago. Salvaged and then milled into dimensional lumber, each board carries a storied past. Securing these prized pieces was a stroke of luck, and I dedicated myself to preserving their rugged elegance.
Delicate saw marks, subtle colour variations, and the occasional check or crack define the captivating allure of this table's surface. To honour its natural imperfections, I stabilized some of the fissures with bespoke bow tie inlays meticulously crafted from black walnut. The interplay of hues between the walnut and cherry lends a striking visual harmony to the ensemble.
The table's legs, fashioned from rough-hewn hemlock, were individually turned on my lathe with great care, each retaining its own unique character to complement the cherry tabletop. Opting for a sleek black finish accentuates the cherry's rich tones, resulting in a seamless fusion of rustic charm and contemporary sophistication.
